Located on Sunshine coast’s longest and best surf beach with year-round sunny weather, the two-storey house with a partial lower level consists of 3 volumes. The house is designed with the sub tropical climate in mind as well as passive cooling and heating. Sandstone feature walls screen direct and guide visitors to the arrival as well as protect and screen. A “barcode” wall screens entrance from northerly neighbours and the solid walls run parallel forms the winter court to the bedroom block; other such walls screen and frame vignettes to the ocean from all bathrooms. Large seamless living and dining block runs north south facing out to the easterly (ocean) view opens out onto a sundeck and pool absorbing dramatic Noosa sunrise and Pacific Ocean. Large expanses of decks to the North and roof top allow for entertaining guests all year round. All sundry spaces and hallways are designed to attain natural daylight and a hierarchy of alcoves to display owner’s extensive South East Asian art and sculpture collection.
